General rulings on hajj and umrah
Is it permissible for parents to bring a young child on Hajj, and is the child's Hajj valid?
Answer in brief
Hajj is not obligatory on a child because he or she has not reached puberty, but a child may perform it and the Hajj is valid. The parents who bring the child also receive reward. A Hajj performed in childhood does not count as the obligatory Hajj of Islam, so once the child reaches puberty and meets the conditions, he or she must perform Hajj again.
