Answer in brief

Tawaf

What is the ruling on a pilgrim who has performed tahallul and then remembers that his tawaf was less than seven rounds?

Answer in brief

A tawaf of fewer than seven rounds is not valid. The pilgrim must complete the tawaf, then perform the sa'ie and shave or trim the hair again. He must also pay a dam for cutting his hair before the tawaf and sa'ie were complete. This dam is of the takhyir and taqdir type, meaning a choice between slaughtering a goat in the Haram, giving two cupak of food to each of six poor people in the Haram, or fasting for three days.
