Tahallul and hair cutting
May a pilgrim shave or trim another person's hair before shaving or trimming his or her own?
Answer in brief
A pilgrim is permitted to shave or trim another pilgrim's hair before doing so for himself or herself. It is nevertheless more virtuous and preferable to complete one's own shaving or trimming first, then to do it for others. The fatwa explains that shaving or trimming in hajj and umrah means removing at least three hairs after completing tawaf and sa'i.
