Overnight stays and stoning
If I am ill and unable to go to stone the jamrah on the days of tashriq, can I appoint someone else to do it for me?
Answer in brief
A person whose illness gives no hope of recovery before sunset on 13 Dhul Hijjah must appoint someone else to stone the jamrah on his or her behalf. The deputy must first stone for himself or herself, and only then perform the stoning assigned to him or her. If the sick person recovers before the stoning period ends, the stoning already done by the deputy need not be repeated, but the remaining stoning must be performed personally.
